Slow Cooked Applewood Smoked Bacon Baked Beans

Thick, saucy, savory with a touch of sweet

Preheat oven to 375°.  Place a rack over a baking pan and spread out the slices of bacon.  Bake in the oven until desired doneness or for abut 20 minutes.  Dice up the bacon and save the grease for another recipe.

Either soak the navy beans overnight or boil them for an hour before putting them into a slow cooker.  Add bacon bits, Bacon Rub, Sweet & Spicy Asian Sesame,  ketchup, water,  molasses, Ground Yellow Mustard SeedsFleur de Sel Salt, and brown sugar.  Cook on high for 4-6 hours.

- 3 tablespoons Bacon Rub, Sweet & Spicy Asian Sesame

- 1 1/2 cups ketchup

- 1 1/2 cups water

-  1/4 cup molasses

-  1 tablespoon Ground Yellow Mustard Seeds

-  1 tablespoon Fleur de Sel Salt

-  1 cup brown sugar

Tips Notes For another layer of flavor, before cooking the bacon, coat the bacon with a generous amount of Bacon Rub, Sweet & Spicy Asian Sesame.
