No. 128 - Organic Superfine Dragon Well Green Tea
Long Jing tea has a long history which can be dating back to the Tang Dynasty of China. By the Ming Dynasty, Long Jing tea gradually fame spread far and wide. After the founding of New China, the governments actively support the development of Long Jing tea. Tea Districts are breeding new improved varieties of Long Jing tea, promoting advanced cultivation and processing technology, leading Long Jing tea production so embarked on a path of development.

Tea Tree species
The fresh tea leaves are from tea trees of Jiukeng species, also called Jiukeng big-leaf specie, seeding family, bush, mainly distributes in Chun’an, Kaihua in Zhejiang Province and Shexian in Anhui Province. In 1950th, it was introduced to tea areas all around Zhejiang. In 1985 it was verified as a national specie with number GS13023-1985 by the National Crop Variety Certification Committee. The dry leaves of spring tea from this species contains about 3.4% of amino acid, 20.9% of tea polyphenols, 13.3% of catechin and 4.1% of caffeine, which is good for making green tea.
This Organic Dragon Well Long Jing tea comes from Tianmu Mountain, located in Lin’an, northwest in Zhejiang Province, a distance of 84 kilometers away from Hangzhou. Tianmu in Chinese means the eyes on heaven. There is a pool on each top of east peak (elevation of 1480 meters) and west peak (elevation of 1506 meters) of Tianmu Mountain. The two pools look like the eyes that are watching the sky. This is how it was named.
With elevation of 300 m to 1556 m, Tianmu Mountain is well-known for its typical forest ecosystem and landscape of middle subtropical regions.
Dongkeng Organic Tea Garden is located in TianMu, Lin’an, Hangzhou. Been the first village of organic tea in China, it stands out in the pleasant natural ecological environment that is good place to product great teas. Here the elevation is 800 meters to 1000 meters.
