A rustic, French twist to rice and beans

7603 French Onion Garlic - Rice and Black Beans

Cook the rice according to the directions on the package with the addition of Olive Oil and French Onion Garlic Blend.

In a medium skillet over medium heat, render the bacon. Remove the bacon and saute the sliced onions until brown. Mix in the black beans and French Onion Garlic Blend. Reduce heat to low. Stir in cooked rice and bacon. Season with Fleur de Sel 'Flower of the Sea' Salt, to taste.

Black Beans

- 1 can Black Beans (15 ounces)

- 2 slices of bacon, cut into ¼” bits (optional)

- ½ Vidalia onion, sliced

- 1 tablespoon (7603) French Onion Garlic Blend

- (5173)  Fleur de Sel 'Flower of the Sea' Salt, to taste

Rice

- 3 cups cooked white rice (according to box)

- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil

- 1 tablespoon 7603 French Onion Garlic Blend

For a variation add some Cayenne Pepper for some heat and some Tostones as a side dish
