5164 Pumpkin Challah Bread

In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. In a stand mixer, with a dough hook attached, mix together the Pumpkin Pie Spice, brown sugar, Olive Oil, pumpkin, egg yolks, and Himalayan Pink Salt. Once the yeast begins to bubble add it to the stand mixer.

Slowly add flour a little bit at a time and knead in stand mixer for 5 minutes. Place bread in a clean bowl and cover. Place in a warm part of the room and allow to rise for 2 hours.

When dough is double in size, divide into 3 even parts. Roll each into a rope, place in a line, and braid together. Place onto a baking tray and cover with a towel. Allow the dough to rise for 40 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°. Brush egg on dough and bake for 35-40 minutes.

- ¾ cup warm water

- 1 packet active dry yeast

- 2 teaspoons (5164) Pumpkin Pie Spice

- 1/3 cup brown sugar

- 1 teaspoon Olive Oil

- 1 cup canned pumpkin

- 3 egg yolks

- 1 teaspoon (4040) Himalayan Pink Salt (Fine)

- 5 cups All-purpose flour

- 1 egg for basting

Serve with a side of whipped butter
