5164 - French Apple Tart with Pumpkin Spice

Serves 4-6

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed according to manufacturer’s instructions

2 large apples, core removed and sliced 1/8-in. slices (about 3 cups)

1/3 cup sugar

1 tsp. Pumpkin Spice Blend (5164)

2 Tbs. cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes


  1. Heat oven to 400F.  Unroll or unfold puff pastry sheet and place on a parchment-lined sheet pan (mine measured 12.5 x 9.5-in.)  Arrange apple slices to cover the puff pastry- some overlapping slices are fine.

  2. Stir together the sugar and the Pumpkin Spice in a small bowl and sprinkle over the apple slices.  Dot the apples with the cubes of butter and bake in oven for 30-40 minutes, or until puff pastry is golden brown and apple slices are slightly caramelized.
