4157 Fleur de Sel Sweet and Salty Plantains

4157 Fleur de Sel Sweet and Salty Plantains

Peel plantains and slice into ¼ inch chips. Coat the bottom of a sauté pan with vegetable oil. Over medium heat, cook plantains until golden brown on both sides. Allow plantains to rest on baking rack. Discard unused oil.

Melt butter on medium heat and return plantains to sauté pan. Sprinkle the Granulated Brown Sugar on the plantains and gently toss to evenly coat. Sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add Butterscotch Liquor and swirl the pan allowing the alcohol to burn off. Transfer to serving dish and sprinkle with Fleur de Sel Salt.

- 2 plantains

- ½ cup vegetable oil

- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

- 2 teaspoons (5174) Granulated Brown Sugar

- 2 ounces Butterscotch Liquor

-  1 teaspoon (4157) Fleur de Sel Salt

An easy way to remove the plantations from the husk is to cut a slit down the length of the plantain and then put it into boiling water for 2 minutes.
