4012 Red Alaea Hawaiian Pulled Pork

A tropical twist to pulled pork

4012 Red Alaea Hawaiian Pulled Pork

Line the bottom of a crock pot with bacon slices. Put roast into the crock pot and generously season all sides with Hawaiian Red Alaea Salt, Hawaiian Hula Seasoning, Grains of Paradise, and Garlic Powder.

Add the peppers and pineapple chunks. Place 2 pineapple rings on top. Cook on medium for 8 hours or until fork tender.

When cooked, remove the roast and shred it with two forks. Serve as a sandwich or over rice.

- 5 slices of bacon

- 4 pounds pork butt, bone in

- 2 tablespoons (5007) Garlic Powder

- 1 tablespoon (4012) Hawaiian Red Alaea Salt

- 1 tablespoon (7086) Hawaiian Hula Seasoning

- 1 tablespoon (5056) Grains of Paradise (Alligator Pepper)

- 1 orange bell pepper, cut into 1” chunks

- 1 pineapple, peeled, cored, and sliced into 1” chunks (save 2 rings)

Pork butt or pork shoulder?  It's the same cut. It's usually called the pork butt, but it comes from the shoulder.
