Carrots and Ground Thyme highlight this dish

4007 Applewood Smoked Braised Carrots

In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and brown onions.
Deglaze pan with vegetable broth and bring heat up to medium high. Add Ground Thyme, Applewood Smoked Salt, and carrots. Stir in Demerara Sugar.
Cook uncovered until most of the liquid has absorbed. Garnish with more Ground Thyme.

- 2 cups vegetable broth

- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

- ¼ onion, diced small

- 1 pound carrots, peeled, sliced 1/4” thick

- ½ t (5204) Ground Thyme

- 2 tablespoon (5170) Demerara Sugar

- ¼ teaspoon (4007) Applewood Smoked Salt

Deglazing is a cooking technique for removing and dissolving browned food residue from a pan to flavor sauces.
